Please note, these apps are not a substitute for a good Spanish teacher. But, they can be a great way to get started, practice, or supplement Spanish class for free.

Duolingo

Duolingo is widely regarded as one of the best apps for Spanish learning. I blogged about Duolingo in Spanish class back in early February 2015. Back then I used Duolingo as a Choice Homework option. I have also used Duolingo as a emergency sub plan for an Exploratory Spanish class.

Duolingo is gamified lessons make it engaging for all ages. The app focuses on vocabulary, sentence structures, and even basic conversations. It offers a fun and interactive way to learn some basic Spanish for free.
